VFW acknowledges YES Home’s good work with donation

When a child is brought to YES Home in Dearborn County, the staff tries to make the transition as seamless as possible. That’s why donations like the $1,000 donation the Harrison VFW Post 7570 made recently makes a huge difference to the organization.

Group proposes city charter changes

The time has come around for the review of Harrison’s charter. Six months ago, nine members of the community, including the mayor and a member of city council, were selected to review the charter and recommend any necessary amendments to the charter.

Dorothy (Provo) Kremer, age 95, of North Port, Florida, passed away on Dec. 19, 2020. Dorothy is survived by her husband Louis Kremer, her daughter Judy and many siblings and other relatives and friends.

Dorothy Jean “Dot” (Greenham) Elrod

Dorothy Jean “Dot” (Greenham) Elrod, of Harrison, passed away on May 31, 2021, at the age of 95. She was born on Feb. 22, 1926, in Harrison, Ohio, to William and Mary E. (Doneworth) Greenham, and was the first of four children – Betty, Jane and Bo. Dot graduated William Henry Harrison High school in 1944 and married her high school sweetheart, Ira (Bud) Elrod on April 27, 1946. Together they raised four children: Susan, Jeff, Marcia and Todd.

Library’s program encourages literacy, learning

Hamilton County kids and teens are invited to read, learn, and earn prizes with the Discover Summer program at the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library. The 2021 summer learning program runs through July 31. Youth can visit a library location, including the Harrison branch, to pick up their free Discover Summer To-Go pack:

Metzger to wrestle at Greco Roman Nationals in Fargo

Harrison High School junior Evan Metzger has qualified to wrestle as a member of the Ohio team in the 2021 National 16-under Greco-Roman Tournament in Fargo, North Dakota. He will wrestle in the 126-pound weight class.
