Deville’s now offering COVID-19 vaccine

Deville’s Rising Sun Pharmacy recently announced that the pharmacy has the COVID-19 vaccine in stock. They are now scheduling appointments for this week and next.

New officer patrolling in Rising Sun

Rising Sun’s Chief of Police Rodney Rimstidt recently added a new officer to his squad. At the most recent Board of Works meeting, Joe Gibson was sworn in as the newest patrolman for the city.

Quilts hung with care at the historical museum

There is still time left to visit the quilt exhibit at the Ohio County Historical Museum. This year’s display is in memory of Sally Branham and is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. The last day for the show will be Saturday, April 10.

Supporting key investments in law enforcement, broadband

The Indiana General Assembly is now moving into the second half of the 2021 legislative session, where proposed bills passed out of the House and Senate swap chambers for further consideration. Bills moving through the legislative process include the House version of the proposed two-year state budget, which makes strong investments in Hoosier law enforcement and rural broadband.

RS baseball follows bad start with 14-4 winner

RISING SUN - After allowing a total of 34 runs in a pair of mercy rule losses to open the season last week, Rising Sun baseball turned the tables for a badly-needed first win Monday, 14-4 in six innings over visiting Waldron.

Softball begins on a high note

RISING SUN - Finishing on top in a chilly 18-11 season-opening slugfest with Lawrenceburg Wednesday, March 31, Rising Sun softball scored runs in five of six innings, bashing 15 hits. But the going got a lot tougher for Coach Ken DeDreu’s Lady Shiners, who dropped their next 3 contest, including Monday’s road opener at Hauser, 9-2.
