Online pre-registration for the 16th annual catfish tournament sponsored by the Ohio Valley River Cats is open. The tournament is schedule for Saturday and Sunday, Sept.
Fourth-generation craftsman Nick Eaves has recently found a home for his shop at the Pendleton Art Center on Main Street in Rising Sun. He is now accepting orders for custom wood pieces and knives. All of his pieces are 100% handmade and he guarantees them for life.

1816 – President James Madison signed into law the Enabling Act, passed by Congress. The measure would permit Indiana to become a state “on equal footing with the original states.” The next step was the organization of a constitutional convention, which took place in the summer of the same year. Indiana was admitted to the Union on December 11, 1816.

The second graders in Brenda Peters’ class at Manchester Elementary have enjoyed witnessing the story of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” come to life over the past several weeks. In connection with this story the students have encountered lessons/standards in every single subject area.
On a special Saturday night in spring thousands of girls all over the country will get their hair and makeup done and put on a formal dress that’s been hanging in their closet for months waiting to be worn.
