Gibbons received impact award

The American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation recently recognized agency owner Doris Gibbons of Harrison as a Community Impact Award recipient. These award winners are recognized by American Family peers, staff and leadership for dedication to their community through fundraising, volunteerism, board service and advocacy.

Wildcat baseballers honored by coaches

Pitcher/outfielders Cam Hering and Carter Daniel, catcher/infielder Cade Combs and first baseman Braeden Zuber were named to the Southwest Ohio Baseball Coaches Association all-star team for 2021. Hering and Daniel were selected to the first-team; Combs and Zuber were honorable mention. Hering, Daniel and Zuber are seniors; Combs is a junior.

Coyle wins Lebanon Shootout

Harrison High School golfer Abbey Coyle won the Greater Cincinnati Golf Association Tournament’s Lebanon Shootout at Harmon Golf Course June 11. Coyle, who will enter her senior season at Harrison later this summer, shot a nine-over-par 81, the low score in the girls 13-18 age group, and had birdies on the fourth and 18th holes.

Robertson leaves tall legacy at Harrison

Just when the tallest player on Harrison High School’s 2020-2021 basketball team was putting his best feet forward in his senior season, those feet betrayed him. Brady Robertson, a 6-foot-8-inch center, scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Harrison’s first two games before his season came to a sudden halt.

Year of frustration ends in celebration for Sowders

Logan Sowders’ story is so inspiring, it hastened Mark Meibers’ recovery. Meibers is Harrison High School’s athletic director who spent much of the spring away from campus, recuperating from back surgery.

Two high school seniors participating in the Dearborn County 4-H Fair for the final time look back at their time spent acquiring beneficial skills and lifelong friends. Although their time in 4-H will end this weekend, the memories they have made will last a lifetime.
