Doris Gibbons was presented this plaque for the Insurance Professional of the Year from Insurance Professional of Greater Cincinnati on June 22. The president said Gibbons has been instrumental in securing speakers and sponsorship and volunteers to help with regional events and keeps the association informed of volunteer opportunities at Mathew 25 Ministries and other agencies. Evelyn Herrmann from Harrison has been named to the Dean’s Honor Roll for the Spring 2021 semester at Lawrence Technological University. Herrmann is majoring in graphic Design.
Daniel Finley of Harrison has been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s Winter 2021 President’s List. The winter term runs from January to May.

Ben Peaslee knows the importance of a well-maintained lawn. The Harrison High School senior (Class of 2022) has played three years as a member of the golf program – two on varsity – and recently completed his first year with the Wildcat baseball squad.
Soaring with Hawks Bailey Manos (Class of 2022) is playing softball with her travel team, Ohio Hawks 16U – Hutchinson. Manos and the Hawks have traveled to Birmingham, Alabama, for the T-Bolts 5 Star Showcase and to Columbus, Georgia, for the Junior Olympic Cup.
A meaningful tribute to veterans was just what Bill Floyd and Mike Whitener had hoped for when planning the first Thank a Vet day at Harrison VFW Post 7570. On July 3 veterans from the area were invited to Thank a Vet day as a way to be honored for their service.
Land has started moving along Indiana 1 in Greendale on what will become an 84-home community. The Crossing at Tanners Creek had its official groundbreaking last week.
Multiple dodgeball teams met at the Aurora Recreation and Community Center July 10 to sacrifice their bodies to help Aurora Fill the Pool. The games were part of a fundraiser to help the city raise money to renovate Aurora public pool.
