Two women expanding the reach of their garden

Two Harrison women are serving the Central Atlantic Region of State Garden Clubs. Betty Cookendorfer was recently named director of the CAR Garden Clubs which serves nine states including Ohio, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, National Capital Area New Jersey and New York.

Officials get a taste of firefighting

Elected officials in Harrison got to experience what it takes to be a firefighter during an emergency training scenario. The fire department conducted training in the old Harrison Junior School last week.

VFW says thank you to all veterans

A meaningful tribute to veterans was just what Bill Floyd and Mike Whitener had hoped for when planning the first Thank a Vet day at Harrison VFW Post 7570. On July 3 veterans from the area were invited to Thank a Vet day as a way to be honored for their service.

Agreement will allow annexation

Harrison Township and the city of Harrison are close to an annexation although it violates the Joint Economic Development District the two are in. Harrison City Council approved an intergovernmental agreement with the township for the annexation of three parcels of land at the intersection of Dry Fork and Simonson roads into the city.
