William McCreary, 89, of Greendale, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023. He was born July 24, 1934, in Manchester, Kentucky, son of the late William and Dora (Smith) McCreary.

Bill was an Army veteran. He was a member of the Berean Baptist Church in Bright, Indiana. He liked to fish. He loved spending time with his family at “family dinners.” He worked as a land surveyor. 

He is survived by his two daughters, Dana Lynne McCreary of Greendale, Indiana, Lori (Darren) Koons of Aurora, Indiana; brother, James (Carol) McCreary of North Vernon, Indiana; sister, Margaret (Keith) Upchurch of Cross Plains, Indiana; three grandchildren, Cameron (Bridget) McCreary, Kyle Callahan, Sebastian Thies; and two great-grandchildren, Alexi McCreary, Breckin McCreary.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dora McCreary; his loving wife, Barbara McCreary; three brothers, Art McCreary, Leroy McCreary, Robert McCreary; and his sister, Wilma Carr.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Charlie Davis officiating.

Interment will follow in the Greendale Cemetery, Greendale, Indiana.
