Sharon Lynn Baum, a beloved wife, devoted mother, and cherished friend, passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on October 10, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Thomas and Lucille (Stockoff) Riley, Sharon spent her life creating a warm and loving home for her husband, Fred, and daughter Loralee.
Sharon’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love and laughter. She and her high school sweetheart, Fred Baum, embarked on a remarkable journey together that spanned over 60 years. Their love story was one filled with joy, companionship, and shared dreams. Together, they built a home that radiated warmth and charm, particularly through Sharon’s seasonal decorations that celebrated the beauty of every time of year.
A natural storyteller, Sharon had an innate ability to connect with others, never knowing a stranger. Her infectious spirit and love for 50s music, especially the sounds of Elvis and Guy Mitchell, filled her home with joy, bringing friends and family together for lively gatherings. Sharon cherished traveling and exploring new places, creating lasting memories with her loved ones.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Fred Baum; her devoted daughter, Loralee (Terry) Walton and grandson, Logan Strong.
Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lucille Riley and brother, Kevin (Diane) Riley.
Visitation will be held at Brater Winter Funeral Home in Harrison, Ohio, on August 7, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. Immediately following will be a graveside service at Glen Haven Cemetery. www.braterfh.com.
