RICHARD “RICK” STRATMAN

 Richard “Rick” Stratman, 68, of Batesville, Ind., passed away on January 24, 2025. Rick was born on May 1, 1956, in Batesville to Violet Marlene Stratman. Rick’s greatest joy in life was his family and he devoted himself to them wholeheartedly. He was a loving husband to Claudia Stratman, with whom he shared 22 beautiful years of marriage. Claudia was truly the treasure of his life. Rick was also a proud father to Richard (Robyn) Stratman of Fountaintown, Ind., and to Patrick (Rachel) Miller, North Little Rock, Ark. His love extended to his grandchildren, Baylie, Taylor, and Ethan, and their spouses, as well as Lily and Myles, and his great-grandson, PK, as he says makes his heart whole! He cherished every moment spent with them. In addition to his immediate family, Rick had friends who were like family to him. He was deeply connected to Mike and his wife Penny of Webster, Fla., and Larry and Kitty of Leesburg, Fla., whose friendship he treasured. Rick’s hobbies come with flying RC planes, playing games, enjoying cigars, and spending time with his friends. But what truly brought him the most joy was being surrounded by his family and cherished companions. His best friend in the world was his beloved fur human, Chance, who brought him endless comfort and joy. Their relationship was unbreakable. Rick’s warmth, unusual humor, and unwavering loyalty to his loved ones will never be forgotten. His legacy of kindness and devotion will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a man who lived life to the fullest and brought light into the lives of others. Rick is survived by his wife Claudia, his mother Violet Marlene Stratman, his children Richard (Robyn) Stratman, Patrick (Rachel) Miller, his grandchildren Baylie, Taylor, Ethan Lily Myles and PK, great-grandchild, his brother Rod Stratman, and his cherished friends. Rest in peace, Rick. Your love and memory will live on forever in the hearts of your family, friends, and everyone who was fortunate enough to know you. We will love and miss you dearly. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, 11:30 a.m. with a gathering 30 minutes prior at Beyers Funeral Home, 1123 W. Main St, Leesburg.
