Rev. Arno Wilson

Knowing God and teaching others about His love was the greatest gift Arno was given and on Dec. 20, 2022, at the age of 85, Rev. Arno Wilson left this earthly dwelling to be welcomed home.

Arno Wilson was born on March 7, 1937, in Russell County, Kentucky, to Lisco and Rosie (McGowan) Wilson. They moved to the Cincinnati area and he graduated from Central High School in Cincinnati majoring in printing. Arno married Patricia Spiegel on Dec. 12, 1959, and they were blessed with two daughters: Rebecca and Kimberly.

Arno worked for a few years in the printing business until he told his wife that he was being called to minister to people. They moved to Trevecca Nazarene University in Tennessee and then went on to Kansas City to seminary school. Arno and Pat got the call to come back to Ohio to minister at the Harrison Nazarene Church and served from 1970-1988. Arno was proud that he helped lead the new building of the Nazarene Church. Arno also served at Batavia Church of the Nazarene and being an evangelist minister all over.

Arno and Pat ended up coming back to Harrison in 1998 to help at the church and stayed. If you knew Arno, you know that he had a love for others and it was a true unconditional love for all. When he wasn’t ministering, he enjoyed working in the yard and painting. Arno was also a good woodworker and made many signs and ornaments over the years. God places all of us in this world to make it better and for Arno he made everyone feel loved and cared for. His life is a tribute to how God directs your life when you listen to Him.

Arno’s life decisions made a lasting legacy to those he left behind, especially his loving wife of 63 years Patricia “Pat” Wilson; daughters: Rebecca (James ) Black, Kimberly (Scott) Kammer; beloved grandchildren: Mollie and Olivia Black, Hilary (Dr. Joseph) Case, Rebecca (Zach) Brown, Randall Kammer; greatgrandchildren: Braxton and Eleanor Case, Charlee, Lilliana and Oakley Brown; brother: Ronnie (Janetta) Wilson; brother-in-law: Tony (Joan) Spiegel and many nieces and nephews.

Arno was preceded in death by his parents: Lisco and Rosie (nee McGowan) Wilson; siblings: Pearlie Wells, Flonnie Cook, Arlo Wilson and Delno Wilson; brother-in-law: Edward Spiegel and sister-in-law: Martha Paolello.
