Firehouse renovations finally coming to end

Progress is being made on a huge project for Whitewater Township. In July 2018, township trustees approved $300,000 renovations for the fire houses in Hooven and Miamitown.

COVID doesn’t stop parks volunteers

Great Parks volunteers didn’t let the pandemic stop them from giving back to a place they love. While the pandemic may have altered some of the volunteer projects the parks take on in a normal year, many devoted volunteers found a way to continue helping out.

West JAD getting new SUV

In its first meeting of the year, the Western Joint Ambulance District (JAD) approved to buy a new SUV for the staff and elected new officers. West JAD is a paramedic service founded by local fire chiefs and community leaders to provide services to the communities in the area while sharing expenses and funding.

Girl Scout cookie season is underway

Girl Scouts in Western Ohio and Southeastern Indiana have kicked off their annual cooking selling season. Now through March 14, Girl Scouts are selling eight Girl Scout cookies, including ever-popular favorites Thin Mints and Samoas.
