For years, Amanda Eldridge has been slowly connecting the pieces to her career path puzzle and recently was able to enjoy the fruits of her labor. She and her food truck – Amanda’s Mobile Diner – made their debut for National Pie Day, on Jan.

City OK’s pool repairs

Rising Sun City Council approved at the January City Council meeting that Howard Excavating will repair the city pool. Rising Sun Project Manager Mike Northcutt also reported that Natare Corp.

National crime show visits Ohio County

It’s not every day, or even every year, that you’ll catch a glimpse of national media in Rising Sun, but the cast and crew of “48 Hours” was here filming last week. The crew was reporting on a murder from 2014 in which Danielle Green was convicted of brutally murdering her husband, Raymond Green, as he slept in their trailer.

Janet Ruth (Robinson) Holder, of Rising Sun, IN, was born to Ruth Martin and Andy Robinson on April 20, 1943. A caring, loving, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she departed from this world on January 24, 2021, at the age of 77.

Janet Ruth Thies, formerly Janet Hayes, age 82, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away peacefully in her home with her family at her side on January 19, 2021, following a sudden and brief illness. Janet was a proud and strong Breast Cancer Survivor but was unable to overcome advanced Pancreatic Cancer.
