County takes over COVID testing

The COVID-19 testing site on Wilson Creek Road is now being run by the health departments of Dearborn and Ohio counties. The counties took over all testing in the area Monday, closing the bus that was parked at the Lawrenceburg Fairgrounds.

Vaccinations open to more Hoosiers

There are two bits of good news for Dearborn County – the state dropped the advisory level for COVID-19 from 3 to 2.5 last week. And, as of Monday, Hoosiers 65 and older can sign up for the vaccine.

Aurora starts fundraiser to rebuild pool

Aurora is starting a project to reconstruct its pool. The city has agreed to finance $2.5 million toward the Fill the Pool project to build a new pool.

Students develop empathy for novel’s characters

Erika Holt’s students at Aurora Elementary School have been reading “The One and Only Ivan” in their reading classes for the past three weeks. During this novel study, her students have analyzed the main character’s behavior, actions, and dialogue in order to infer the emotions felt by that character.
