Raquel “Renee” Owens (nee Helton), 50 years old, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021, with her family by her side. Born in Hamilton, Ohio, Renee was the oldest of three children born to Cheryl Lynn (Roth) and Elmer Thomas Helton.

No splitting titles for Harrison bowlers this season

The power compass in the Southwest Ohio Conference bowling is, in fact, now pointing Southwest instead of Northwest. Harrison High School’s varsity teams both clinched SWOC championships earlier this month – the boys with a 10-0 league mark and the girls at 9-1.

Girls wrestling takes center mat

Boxes filled (well, not for long) with doughnuts, pizza and coffee sat on the first two rows of bleachers on the east side of the Harrison Activity Center, a reward and refuel for those working at the Southwest District Girls Wrestling Tournament Sunday.

Drama Club resorts to radio – sort of – to beat the pandemic

The arts have paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Harrison High School’s drama club found a way to showcase its cast and crew’s skills socially distanced. This year, for the spring show, the club will take spectators back to the 1940s.

DECA keeps up success despite pandemic

Every year hundreds of DECA students at Harrison High School go on to compete at the state level. The program has been successful since 2009.
