Sandra Lynn Privett passed away peacefully on the morning of February 1, 2021, at the age of 74. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to and preceded in death by John Henry and Anna Elizabeth (nee Hamm) Schneider. Sandy graduated from Mt. Healthy High School in 1965 and married JC Privett Jr. on December 23, 1972.

Not only does Dr. Christopher Walcott contribute to the community as its county health officer and caregiver at the Rising Sun Medical Office, he and his wife, Rachel, also lend their time to leading the pack of second grade Wolf Scouts.

Biggest Loser coming back for another round in 2021

Rising Sun City Council has approved the popular weight loss contest, the Biggest Loser, for 2021. The contest has been held for the past several years and is a 14-week competition in which participants weigh in each week to see who has lost the most weight.

Health departments take over COVID

The COVID-19 testing site on Wilson Creek Road in Aurora is now being run by the health departments of Dearborn and Ohio counties. The counties took over all testing in the county Monday, closing the bus that was parked at the Lawrenceburg Fairgrounds.

Roeder: snow days over e-learning

Rising Sun Ohio Count Community Schools Superintendent Branden Roeder told parents in an email there are two reasons why the corporation does not use e-learning days when the weather is bad – kids need to be kids and e-learning is not as effective as in-class instruction.
