New businesses, a move, spurring development

Harrison residents can expect to see some new businesses around town this year. City Councilman and Economic Development Committee Member Mike Mains said Shoe Sensation and Planet Fitness will be coming to the area at the city council meeting on Feb.

Carol A. Lipscomb (nee Hall), of Harrison, passed away on February 5, 2021 at the age of 81.

Joyce Grandstaff

Joyce (nee Sprague) Grandstaff, of Harrison, passed away on Feb. 4, 2021, at her home at the age of 71.

Louis Edwin Barth

Louis Edwin Barth, of Whitewater Township, passed away on February 7, 2021, at the age of 78. He was born on June 28, 1942 to Edwin and Nellie (nee Kolb) Barth.

An interesting Harrison resident from the 1950s was honored in a Harrison Press article in that time period. This person had touched the lives of so many Harrison residents that they wanted to thank him for just being him.

Last year Harrison High School started the Hope Squad to spread mental health awareness in the school. A fire in a detached storage building that caught fire early Monday morning is a total loss. Harrison Fire Chief Rob Husong said the fire on New Biddinger Road happened at about 1 a.m.
