Although students at Rising Sun Schools have enjoyed a couple of snow days this winter, the biggest snowfall hit Shinetown Monday night, Feb. 8, into early Tuesday morning. The National Weather service called for about one to two inches of snow, but accumulation is estimated to be more than seven inches of snow and County Commissioners placed the county on a level orange watch travel status.
Rising Sun High School senior and cheerleader Kiana Buschle is at home recovering after a car accident that left her with severe injuries and no recollection of the entire day.
