On March 8 we will observe International Women’s Day; a celebration of equality, empowerment and achievements of women. This year, unlike years prior, the theme references Covid-19. Effective female leaders have always been on the forefront of humanitarian issues, so it seems fitting that this year’s them is:
RISING SUN - Rising Sun boys basketball took a 6-10 season mark into Wednesday night’s Class A Sectional 60 quarterfinal round matchup with Waldron (5-17, late) after splitting its final 2 regular season contests in extreme fashion.
Caterina Russell is a sophomore at Rising Sun High School. She is an eight-year 4H member and has been in Drama Club for five years. She also likes to draw and has nine years of dance experience. This is the first in a regular feature that will appear in the Rising Sun Recorder and Ohio County News.
