RS baseball follows bad start with 14-4 winner

RISING SUN - After allowing a total of 34 runs in a pair of mercy rule losses to open the season last week, Rising Sun baseball turned the tables for a badly-needed first win Monday, 14-4 in six innings over visiting Waldron.

Softball begins on a high note

RISING SUN - Finishing on top in a chilly 18-11 season-opening slugfest with Lawrenceburg Wednesday, March 31, Rising Sun softball scored runs in five of six innings, bashing 15 hits. But the going got a lot tougher for Coach Ken DeDreu’s Lady Shiners, who dropped their next 3 contest, including Monday’s road opener at Hauser, 9-2.

Company bringing jobs to West Harrison

A tract of land in West Harrison next to Interstate 74 is expected to be home to a new industry in the West Harrison Business Park in Dearborn County. Dyke Industries is a 150-year-old company that assembles pre-hung interior and exterior doors, windows and other building materials.
