Trabel named as Academic All-State

Lydia Trabel, East Central High School, was recognized as a 2021 Regional Academic All-Star by the Indiana Association of School Principals. Academic All-Star distinction recognizes seniors who excel in the classroom first and foremost, but who also are actively involved in their schools and communities, and take on leadership roles in those activities.

Eaves carries on family traditions in art center

Fourth-generation craftsman Nick Eaves has recently found a home for his shop – Eaves Family Traditions – at the Pendleton Art Center on Main Street in Rising Sun. He is now accepting orders for custom wood pieces and knives. All of his pieces are 100% handmade and he guarantees them for life.

Red Wolf Sanctuary says goodbye to 38-year Pokey Bear

Born in captivity in 1983, a female black bear was purchased by someone to serve as a surrogate child. Dressed in baby clothes and photographed like an adopted child, she would spend the first decade of her life in a swampy mosquito infested backyard cage.
