Even small towns dream big

In the May 9, 2014, edition of Inside Indiana Business, it was announced that the OSBE (Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship) and OCRA (Office of Community and Rural Affairs) would be partnering to launch an initiative to spark business and entrepreneurship in small rural communities. Dillsboro applied and was granted the first CEI (Community Entrepreneurial Initiative) Forum.

A big yard sale

The 22nd Great U.S. 50 Yard Sale is scheduled for May 21, 22 and 23, according to Tom Taylor, national coordinator.

West High Street closing

West High Street and Front Street is schedueld to be closed this Friday, March 19, weather permitting, so concrete can be brought to the construction site of the Whiskey City Apartments. Lawrenceburg has given the OK for the concrete delivery between 3 a.m.

Hunts sign ups

Youth hunters may apply for reserved turkey hunts during the special youth wild turkey hunting season on Department of Natural Resources properties from March 15-26. Hunts will occur on April 17-18.

Planning meeting

The Greendale Planning Commission will have a meeting at 6 p.m. Monday March 22, at the Administration Building, 500 Ridge Ave.

New Leadership

The Dearborn County Republican Party’s precinct committee members met recently to elect leadership for the Dearborn County Republican Central Committee to serve for the next four years.
