M. Oliver Carpenter, 95, of Greendale, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023. He was born March 17, 1927, in Fairmont, West Virginia, son of the late Minta Lonnie and Catherine (Smith) Carpenter.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Tanner Valley United Methodist Church and Lawrenceburg American Legion Post 239. He was a mister fix-tt and was a talented carpenter. There wasn’t anything that he couldn’t fix. He worked as a mold maker at Thatcher Glass.

He is survived by his four children, Mark Carpenter of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Jeff (Vikki) Carpenter of Dallas, Texas, Lori (John) Kuebel of Guilford, Indiana, Scott (Barb) Carpenter of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Jessica Carpenter of Dallas, Texas, Joshua Carpenter of Seattle, Washington, Dalton (Olivia) Kuebel of Sunman, Indiana, Laura (Matt) Fuehne of Bright, Indiana, Matthew Kuebel of Mooresville, North Carolina, Jay Smith of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Megan (Thomas) Chapman of Cincinnati, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Damen Rector of Dallas, Texas, Sophia Kuebel of Sunman, Indiana; one brother, Fred Carpenter of Vienna, West Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy Carpenter; sister, Louise Shannon; and his parents, Minta Lonnie and Catherine Carpenter.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Ginny Hizer officiating.

Interment will follow in the Greendale Cemetery, Greendale, Indiana.
