Albert William Loos

Albert William Loos, 88, of Harrison, passed away on April 22, 2023, with his family by his side. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on Aug. 26, 1934, to Albert and Geneva (nee Bohlander) Loos.

He married Mary Etta Craig on Feb. 19, 1954. They started their family and were blessed with four children: Mary Algene, Albert Jay, Marsha Gay and Douglas Howard. Bill always provided for his family and taught them many things in life. First thing he taught them was how to save money. Buying things and reselling was a gift that Bill had. He went to flea markets and yard sales to buy, sell and trade, taking his children along. The gift of negotiating was taught to each of his children just by watching him. He taught them how to read and respect people as well.

Bill’s true love was to travel and see the world. His trips to watch Mexican bull fights and excursions to Florida lead to many stories to be told for future generations. Bill also taught his family about hard work. He worked daily at Fernald and came home to work on his land. He cleared 150 acres of land mostly by hand. He always enjoyed having his goats, cattle and horses. The goats were there to serve a purpose, to keep the weeds in check. As he became older, he also became wiser and worked smarter – not harder. In retirement, besides traveling, he enjoyed attending horse races and going to Branson, Missouri, Renfro Valley or Nashville to listen to country music. Bill led a great life and his family and friends have many wonderful memories.

Those left to carry on his legacy are his loving wife of 69 years, Mary Etta (nee Craig) Loos; beloved children: Algene (Bill) Rutz, Albert “Jay” Loos, Marsha (Tracy) Baker, and Doug Loos; cherished grandchildren: Melissa (Brian) Campbell, Amanda (Matt) Brielmaier, Meganne (Chad) Cornelius, Corrie (Jason) Enneking, Albert “Jayson” (Lyndsay) Loos, William “Wills” (Kelsey) Loos, Michaela (Brady) Pearson, Austin Baker, Douglas Loos Jr., and Daniel Loos; dear great-grandchildren: Brandon, Brady and Marcus Campbell, Josie and Aiden Jacob, Caleb, Ava, and Conner Cornelius, Evan and Lottie Enneking, Albert William “Liam” Loos, Ruthie Loos, and Myla Loos; Sister: Beverly Ann Brech and sister-in-law: Evalene Slayback. Bill was also a wonderful uncle and friend to many.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother: Rawn Eugene Loos; grandson-in-law: Joe Jacob; sister-in-law Dorothy & brothers-in-law Robert, Donald, Stanley, Paul, William and Charles Craig and Ronald Brech.
