The Rising Sun Regional Foundation presented a $15,000 grant for turnout gear for the Rising Sun Volunteer Fire Department. This is the third award from the foundation for turnout gear. More than 25 firefighters need to be refitted with new gear to meet National Fire Protection Association and Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards that are updated every 10 years.
