Naomi Earlene Thomas Knollman, 91, residing near Liberty, Ind., went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Monday March 31, 2025. She was born on November 14, 1933, to Willard and Claribel Thomas in West Harrison, Ind.
Naomi was a 1952 graduate of William Henry Harrison High School in Harrison, Ohio. She married Lawrence “Ray” Knollman on March 27, 1953, at Harrison Christian Church.
She was employed as a switchboard operator at Harrison Telephone Company before moving to Indiana where she and Ray raised four children and farmed. Naomi was employed by West End Building and Loan in Liberty, Ind., for several years until she retired. During her free time away from work, housekeeping and lawn mowing, she loved sewing, crochet, painting, gardening and most all craft projects. She could look at almost any craft project and go home and make it herself. Being a great cook over the years, she fed many a hired hand, welcoming all to pull up a chair and join her and Ray for lunch or dinner. Naomi was a past member of Progressive Homemakers Home Economics Club exhibiting her baking and flower gardening projects at the fair.
Naomi was a member of Hannas Creek Christian Church where she participated in the Womens’ Fellowship. She assisted and taught Bible School at Hannas Creek, as well as at Four Mile Church of the Brethren. Naomi also enjoyed volunteering at the former Reid Hospital Gift Shop.
Naomi and Ray had just celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on March 27 of this year.
Along with her husband, Ray, she is survived by a daughter, Lori (Wayne) Schibley, son, Tom (Jodi) Knollman, daughter-in-law, Victoria Knollman; sister, Shirley Schmeltzer; grandchildren Katrina, Steven (Stacy) and Tristan Clarkson, Jaxom (Heather) and Maxwell (Krystie) Knollman and Taryn and Keegan Coyle.
