Marjorie Colleen (Hall) Warren, 79, of Lawrenceburg, Ind., passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024. She was born August 7, 1944, in Lawrenceburg, daughter of the late David and Mabel (Block) Hall.
Marj graduated from Lawrenceburg High School in 1963, traveled the world as an Air Force spouse, and then returned to Lawrenceburg. She worked at Seagram’s and at Aurora Utilities.
Marj will be remembered as a fiercely stubborn woman with sharp mind, determination, humor, and a strong desire to care for others. Marj instilled in her daughters a passion for clever wordplay and a deep appreciation for literature and the arts, fostering a love of reading and curiosity. The twinkle in her eye brought joy to many.
Marj nurtured independence in her three daughters, instilling in them the same determination and resilience that defined her own character. Though she wasn’t able to complete college, Marj never wavered in her belief in the value of higher education.
She loved nature and enjoyed canoeing in Versailles State Park during her midlife years, finding solace and adventure amidst the trees and water. She painted nature scenes and created intricate fairy gardens, leaving behind tangible expressions of her creative spirit. Marj was particularly delighted with the diverse array of plants, flowers, and trees that she cultivated around her home.
Marj will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Though she may have left this world, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her three daughters, Diane Warren (Jon Baker) of New York City, N.Y., Leslie Warren (Keith Kuykendall) of Marquette, Mich., and Amy Warren (Mark Wallace) of Orlando, Fla.; one brother, Vernon Hall of Sanford, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Mabel Hall; brother, Dale; and her three sisters, Jenny, Gerry, and Barbara.
Family and friends will be received at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 5 – 8 p.m. for a Celebration of Life/Gathering.
In lieu of flowers (no lilies for allergy concerns), contributions may be made to the Heart House or Stray Haven Pet Rescue.
