LOTHITA JANE (MOORE) BASTIN

 Lothita Jane (Moore) Bastin, 90, of Rising Sun, Ind., passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital. Lothita was born in Whitley, Ky., on August 17, 1934, a daughter of the late Dorothy (Croley) Moore and Admiral Dewey Moore. Lothita married Jack Bastin on August 4, 1952. Lothita and Jack were married 44 years until his passing on August 23, 1996. Lothita last worked in the deli department at Merries Grocery in Aurora, Ind. She also formerly worked as a cook at Rising Sun Care Center. Lothita stayed active her whole life and enjoyed doing yard work and mowing her grass. She was very talented at sewing and quilting. Lothita also collected dolls and loved taking pictures. Lothita is survived by two daughters, Connie Porter (Robert) of Edgewood, Ky., and Sandra Schulz (Robert) of Rising Sun; by two sons Mark Bastin (Cindy) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Joe Bastin (Deborah) of Rising Sun; by her grandchildren: Amber, Robert Jr., John Logan, Ginger, Jason, Charissa, Emily, Zach, Eric Jr., Stacey, Karen, Joshua, Emily and Sarah and by 24 great-grandchildren. Lothita is also survived by a sister, Helen Williams, of Rising Sun and by two brothers, Carl Moore of Cincinnati and Kenneth Moore (Freda) of Baltimore, Md. Lothita was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Jack Bastin, by her infant twins Amy and Andy, by her grandson Jared Porter, by her brothers Leroy, James and Harold Moore and by her sisters Eveline Lewis and Anna Derm.
 Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun with Shane White officiating. Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery.
