Lanny “Doug” Phelps, 80, of Sunman, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022. He was born May 15, 1942, in Winchester, Indiana, son of the late Harold and June (Lawler) Phelps.

Lanny was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Batesville YMCA and attended the Garden Park Unity Church on Galbraith Road. He was an avid walker and loved going to watch movies and talk politics. He worked at Anchor Glass.

He is survived by his daughter, Angelique Gamble; two grandchildren, Lani Phelps, Jacob Gamble; and one great–grandchild, Prudence Hollin

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and June Phelps; and his wife, Verna Phelps.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, from 1 .p.m to 3 p.m. at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022 at 3 p.m., with Pastor Tim Halloran officiating.
