Joyce Bailey, born on September 19, 1945, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Ky. She was the beloved daughter of Minnie Pearl Cunningham Bailey and James William Bailey.
 Joyce began her educational journey at Patriot Schools in 1951 and was a dedicated student, graduating with the class of 1963. Her commitment to education and her alma mater was evident throughout her life, as she remained an active and loyal member of the Patriot alumni community.
 Joyce was recognized for her role in organizing family reunions and events after Grandma Bailey could no longer do so. She valued family time and took on responsibilities regarding these gatherings. Her son and daughter-in-law often referred to her as the Big Cheese for her organizational skills.
 Joyce worked in various jobs throughout her life, demonstrating her ability to adapt to different roles.
 She was known for her unwavering loyalty, her generous spirit, and her ability to bring light and laughter to any room. Joyce’s legacy of kindness, compassion, and dedication will forever be remembered
 Joyce is survived by her son Steve Bailey and her favorite daughter-in-law Ginger, Rising Sun, granddaughter Kaitlyn Bailey, Rising Sun, sister Betty Oesterle, Bristol, Wis., niece Sheryl Braddock, Libertyville, Ill., niece Joan Kuenhold (Jimmy), Bristol, nephew Bill Oesterle (Sue), Kalamazoo, Mich., six great-nieces and their families; special friends Ernestien Widener and Jenifer Reynolds. She cherished the moments spent with her loved ones. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, James and Minnie Bailey, by her sister Donna Bailey and by her brother-in-law Herb Oesterle.
 As we say goodbye to Joyce, we celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the countless memories she created. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

 Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, Ind.. Visitation will be 11 a.m. till 1 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Markland Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Patriot High School Alumni.
