Joseph V.  Lacey III, 26, of Greendale, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 in Manitou Springs, Colorado. He was born Jan. 17, 1997 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is survived by his loving wife, Bryanna, his parents, Joseph and Lora, and his sister Reebecca. 

Joseph graduated from Lawrenceburg High School in 2016. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. He proudly served his country for eight years and worked his way up to staff sergeant. He was stationed in Virginia, Hawaii and Colorado as a mortuary affairs specialist. He touched the lives of countless soldiers he served with. His compassion and bravery knew no bounds and he selflessly helped his fellow soldiers in their time of need. 

Joseph and Bryanna were high school sweethearts turned soulmates. They were married in 2018 in Virginia. They proved that love knows no boundaries, even enduring a long-distance relationship with grace and determination. They cherished every moment together, making memories and strengthening their love through miles. 

Joseph enjoyed traveling to new places, trying new foods, spending time with his friends and family, being outdoors, fishing, hunting, competing in Spartan Races, collecting candles, and riding his motorcycle. 

He was a loving husband, son, brother, and soldier. He will be greatly missed. LFEA

Family and friends will be received on Friday, Aug. 4, 2023, from noon to 2 p.m. at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Friday, Aug. 4, 2023, at 2 p.m. 

Interment will follow in the Greendale Cemetery, Greendale, Indiana.
