JOHN VANDERMUELLEN

John B. Vandermuellen, 88, of Lawrenceburg, Ind., passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025. He was born on November 15, 1936, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late John A. and Flora Vandermuellen.

John was a devoted member of Tanner Valley United Methodist Church and a longtime volunteer at Dearborn County Hospital. He found great joy in staying active – whether walking or riding his bike through the community.

A talented machinist and tool designer by trade, John was also a proud and successful business owner of Hogan Machine Service, where he was respected for his skill, work ethic, and dedication.

He is survived by his two daughters, Denise (Wayne) Conover of Greendale, Ind., and Renee (Karl) Nakel of Fort Worth, Texas; two grandchildren, Travis (Lindsay) Conover of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jessica Conover of Phoenix, Ariz.; and his beloved granddogs who brought him much happiness.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Barbara, with whom he shared many wonderful years; and his sister, June Huddleston.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. officiated by Pastor Ginny Hizer.

Memorial contributions may be made to PAWS of Dearborn County or Tanner Valley United Methodist Church.
