Jerry Wayne Ramsey, 77, of Lawrenceburg, Ind., passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024. He was born July 8, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Carl and Ann (Gibbemeyer) Ramsey.
Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was an excellent musician and he played music at several venues throughout his life. He played in the Army, at Ohio State University, and numerous churches. He was part of the Julie Stinchcomb Quintet. He loved all music but jazz was his favorite. He worked as an electrical engineer at American Electric Power.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Ramsey of Lawrenceburg; son, Anthony Ramsey of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; daughter, Christina Renee Ramsey of Lawrenceburg; sister, Carol Ann Sieglitz of Vevay, Ind.; and two grandchildren, Filipp Ramsey, Nikolas Ramsey.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Wayne Ramsey and his mother, Ann Mary Ramsey.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. A celebration of Life service will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home Sunday, July 7, 2024, at 7 p.m.
The Monday Night Big Band that Jerry was a member of is dedicating their performance on July 8, 2024, to Jerry, to celebrate what would have been his 78th birthday. It starts at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Post #0484, 1837 Sutton Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45230 and everyone is welcome to attend.
