Janice was born May 11, 1945, in Batesville, Ind.. Janice was the daughter of the late Helen (Ryan) and Henry (stepfather) Pulliam of Lawrenceburg, Ind.
While living in Indianapolis, Janice worked as a secretary in the State Capital Building for several years. Once she got married and moved to Lawrenceburg she stayed home until her daughter started school. She went back to school at IvyTech, then went to work as a secretary with Belpar/Dynastar for several years before moving to Dearborn County Division of Family and Children. She eventually transferred to the Ohio County Division of Family and Children and later retired in 2014.
When Janice was on a visit with family in Lawrenceburg, she met her husband, Bill Sutton. After many months of traveling back and forth from Indianapolis to Lawrenceburg and back, they later married, living in downtown Lawrenceburg before moving out to Manchester, Ind. They welcomed their only child, Christina, on September 29, 1974. The family enjoyed going to Gatlinburg in the summer months, as well as just running the backroads with a cooler full of KFC, stopping along creek side spots for a small picnic. In the fall, they enjoyed local fall festivals, going to Brown County, Ind., and the start of bowling leagues that ran into spring. One of her favorite bragging moments was winning a 3-6-9 bowling tournament back in the late 80s over in Harrison, Ohio. She won $3.500 and took the family to Gatlinburg for two weeks!! They also picked up snow skiing in the late 80s and 90s. Jan loved the fall season and traveling to local parks to see the colors. She also enjoyed needlepoint/cross stitch, collecting tea pots, and watching NASCAR, with her favorite driver being Dale Earnhardt, Sr. And let’s not forget her love of cats. She’s had several over the years and her most current kitty, Skipper.
