JAMES TURPIN JR.

James (Jim) Earl Turpin Jr., 69, of Lawrenceburg, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, with all of his family by his side. He was born January 14, 1956, to the late James and Louise Turpin.
Jim worked as a laborer who specialized in underground pipe work. His skill set was sought after, causing him to work away from home for weeks at a time or even requiring him to relocate to South Carolina for three years with his family in tow.
He was an avid boater and he was a member of the Rising Sun Yacht Club. Most weekends, you would find Jim and his family/boat friends at the “island”, anchoring out or traveling throughout the Ohio River to his next destination, always living by his boat name, “The High Life”. He loved to be at the boat harbor or out with friends telling the best stories with a Miller High Life in his hand.
Jim’s love and urge to take care of his wife and five daughters was always known and shown until his last breath. He found the most joy in life surrounded by his wife, daughters, sons-in-law, and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Linda Turpin; his daughters, Carynne (Greg) Trammell, Alissa (Todd) Schneider, Leah (Jeff Sanborn) Clemens, Jamie (Jacob) Boodt and Sarah (Adam) Minges; 13 grandchildren, Quinton Adkins, Tyler and Isabella Schneider, Jacob and Felicia Sebastian, Teagyn Trammell, Jaxon, Jesse, and Joseph Boodt, Alexander, Ava, Emma and Scarlett Minges; his two older sisters, Corliss Doxey and Beverly (Russell) Barrowcliff; nephews, Doug Ferrell, Patrick Doxey, John Koelling, Jared Koelling; and his niece, Alyssa Sullenberger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Louise Turpin; his in-laws, Robert and Frances Savage; brothers-in-law, Ernie Doxsey and Jeff Pitchford; infant brother-in-law, Robert N. Savage; his son-in-law, Brad Clemens; and two grandchildren, Baby Angel and Kamryn Trammell.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Lawrenceburg. Funeral services will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. with Father Jonathan Meyer officiating.
