James Allen Becker, of Bright, Indiana, passed away on Oct. 30, 2022, at the age of 69.
He was born on May 13, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Alfred and Dorothy (nee Oehler) Becker. Jim graduated from Oak Hills High School. Jim was very shy when he was younger and at his first job out of high school he started working in a deli. He quickly became outgoing to never knowing a stranger. Jim later started working at The Merten Company as a pressman for almost 30 years. While working there, when his children were young, he worked many side jobs on cars and homes to ensure his kids always had their mother home to raise them. While working so much he realized that he missed out on spending time with his children which he made up later in life.
Jim married Susan Senefeld on Nov. 22, 1997. Jim and Sue enjoyed taking many cruises and traveling with friends and family all over. Jim was always helping others. He would cut grass and snow blow neighbors’ yards and driveways just for the fun of it. He was proud of his family and recently he was proud of being baptized Catholic. Jim had a great sense of humor and shared that frequently with his family and friends. He loved working on cars, especially his 1950 Chevy pickup truck that he was restoring. Jim’s true love was his family and spending time with them making traditions: like picking up his granddaughters on the last day of school and having a picnic, the special trips to Kings Island, or enjoying a day in the park. Those are the memories that live on in our hearts.
Jim’s love will be greatly missed by his beloved wife: Susan (nee Senefeld) Becker; daughter Therese “Terry” (Casey Werrmann) Born; daughter-in-law Molly Becker; cherished grandchildren: Evan and Andrew Becker, Ally and Brynn Born and Parker Werrmann; dear brother: Raymond Becker; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Patricia Becker, Claire Becker, Sharyn (Jerry) Chandler, Debby Brandenburg, William (Mary) Senefeld, Lynda McIntyre, Terry (Richard) Luken and Robert (Marie) Senefeld. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his sons: James “Jamie” Becker and John Becker; brothers: Carl (Jackie), Robert, Walter William “Bill” and Don Becker; sister: Carol Becker: brothers-in-law: Russ Brandenburg and Ed McIntyre; sister-in-law: Patricia Becker.
