George Barry Roof, 79, passed away on August 7 at St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital. He had been a resident at The Waters/Dillsboro Manor for almost two years. He was born on July 19, 1945, son of George and Hilda Roof. He graduated from Lawrenceburg High School in 1963. He served in the U.S. Army and spent a year in Thailand. He was employed at Seagram Distillery and retired from there in 2001 after 38 years. He was married to Mary Noel and they celebrated 50 years and they raised two sons. He was a lifelong member of Emanuel Lutheran Church.
 He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary, sons, Randy, Dennis (Michele), sister, Judy Hall, grandchildren, Bladen, Tatum, Trinity and Katie.
 Family and friends will be received for visitation at Emanuel Lutheran Church from 10 – 11:30 a.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 24. His resting place will be in Greendale Cemetery. Memorials can be given to Emanuel Lutheran Church or Dementia/Alzheimers Association.
