GARY KLOPP

Gary M. Klopp, 85, of Lawrenceburg, Ind., peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at his home. He was born on August 16, 1940, in Lawrenceburg, the son of the late Herman and Frances (Miller) Klopp.
Gary proudly served his country in the United States Navy. A dedicated public servant, he was a 25-year member of Lawrenceburg Fire Department Company #1, where he ultimately served as fire captain. He was also a proud 65-year member of Lawrenceburg Eagles Aerie #2018.
Gary had a passion for riding his Harley and especially cherished his Wednesday outings – sharing beers at the Eagles with his brother, son-in-law, and nephews. He also worked for many years as a truck driver.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christine Klopp; daughters, Merinda (Bill) Klopp, Sue (Scharr) Bovard, Carla Schwab, and Cindee (Doug) Scott; sons, Robert Klopp and Tyler (Natasha) Bailey; his brother, George Klopp Sr.; 23 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Gary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Gary Gene Klopp and Gary M. Klopp Jr.; daughter, Lisa K. Turner; son-in-law, Donnie Turner; grandsons, Daniel Turner, Josh Wood, and Walter Nowlin; great-grandson, Lucas Bovard; and brothers, Raymond Klopp, Gene Klopp, and Carl Klopp.
Family and friends will be received at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at 7 p.m. Color Guard services will take place following the funeral.
Gary’s final resting place will be in Greendale Cemetery, Greendale, Ind.
