Frank William Rahe

Sanibel Island — Frank William Rahe (Bill) 81, passed away Oct. 22, 2022, in St Petersburg, Florida.

Bill was born on Jan. 23, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Raised in Aurora, Indiana, Bill attended St. John’s Lutheran school and church. He served as president of his Arora High School class of 1959. A member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity, Bill graduated with a degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University in 1964. After serving as a captain in the U.S. Army, Bill worked in pharmaceutical engineering at Eli Lilly for 35 years and then as a consultant for Quantic Group from 2002 until September 2022.

Bill and his wife Stephanie Keegan Rahe (originally of Memphis, Tennessee) were married Oct 3, 1964, (Stephanie not realizing that the first weekend in October conflicted with the beloved Aurora Farmers Fair) and resided full time in Indianapolis, Indiana, until 2006. They have had a home in Sanibel Island, Florida, since 2001, and resided part-time in Raleigh, North Carolina, from 2006 until 2021. Bill was a very active member of his church and civic communities in every place he resided.

Bill is proceeded in death by his mother and father, John Arthur and Laura Bussee Rahe, and brother, Arthur Rahe of Auburn, Indiana. He is survived by his wife Stephanie Rahe, son Eric Christian Rahe, daughter Rebecca Rahe DeGroodt, granddaughters Madeline and Caroline DeGroodt, Anna Kate and Eloise Rahe, grandson Frank William Rahe the second, and brothers John Rahe of Goshen, Indiana, Melvin Rahe of New Albany, Indiana, and Martin Rahe of Cincinnati, Ohio.

A graveside memorial service will be held at River View Cemetery, 3635 E. Laughery Creek Road, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. John Lutheran School, 222 Mechanics St., Aurora, Indiana, 47001, or the National PKU Alliance at www. npkua.org.
