Democrat Vanessa Enoch is challenging incumbent Ohio Eight District Republican Warren Davidson on Nov. 5.
Davidson did not return multiple messages for comments. He lives in Troy and has served in Congress since 2016.

Enoch is running “because I believe the people in the eighth Congressional District deserve a leader who will actually advocate for the voices of the people.”

“My top three issues really are issues voters have expressed, are issues for them,” she explained. “Voters have expressed interest in fixing our economy and making sure they can afford the basic necessities of life. They have also said fixing our broken immigration system, which includes fixing the crisis at the border. The third is codifying the rights people are worried about, such as abortion and voter rights.”
Enoch said she grew up in a working-class family experiencing some of the same things people across the district are dealing with, therefore she can relate.
Enoch has lived in West Chester since 2005. Her husband passed away in 2009, and she has raised her two daughters as a single mom since. Enoch is a small business owner. Her business, Cultural Impact, provides consulting services to help businesses grow.
“I want to bring my work in corporate, non-profits, entrepreneurship and the government,” she said. “Bringing those experiences to D.C. helps me understand various experiences. We need more women and more people of color in office.”
