Edward L. Nusekabel, age 87, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Aug. 29, 2023.

Ed was dearly loved by his wife Carol of 62 years, his daughter Kristy (Mike) Herbort and five grandchildren, Patrick and Daniel Kennedy, Tom, Kelly, and Kate Schweikert. Ed was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Schweikert. Beloved son of the late Edward P. and Aurelia Nusekabel and brother to 6 siblings, Jim (Tina) Nusekabel, and the late Laverne Fleihman, Virginia Miller, Ruth Holzman, Joan Elder and Carol Wessler.

Ed served his country in The Honor Guard under President Eisenhower. He was a native of Cincinnati. He was a builder, developer, business owner and real estate investor. Of his many professional accomplishments, he was most proud of building and operating Dante’s Restaurant and Imperial House West Hotel with Carol for 37 years. Ed and Carol purchased Ft. Scott from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati in 1995. They built a home and lived there for 10 years before selling to developers which is now the current Ft. Scott community. Ed had many friends who enjoyed his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. Ed’s favorite pastime was traveling the country with Carol in their motor coach and enjoying his grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 6, from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at noon at St. John the Baptist Church 5361 Dry Ridge Road, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45252.
