East Central High School honored alumni from its 1994 Class 4A football state championship team Friday, Aug. 23, during the Trojans’ 24-3 season-opening win over Lawrenceburg. The undefeated (14-0) Trojans, coached by Indiana Hall of Famer Rod Ballart (center), captured the program’s first state title with a 35-0 victory over DeKalb at what was then known as the Hoosier Dome in downtown Indianapolis.(Sandy Mahoney)
