DON PANOUSHEK
06/19/1932 – 10/15/2025
Don Panoushek, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated serviceman, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, in Lawrenceburg, Ind. He was born in Rutland, Vt., to Clara (nee Walker) and Antone Panoushek on June 19, 1932. Don is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Panoushek (nee Deye), and his cherished children: Dale Panoushek, Glen (Susan) Panoushek, Lee (Deborah) Panoushek, and Vicki (RJ) Davis. He was a proud grandfather to Ryan (Madeline), Sean (Stephaney), Spencer, Samantha, Joseph, and Elizabeth. Don was preceded in death by his dear son, Brian Panoushek. A graduate of Fair Haven (VT) High School, University of Vermont, and Xavier University (Ohio), Don earned degrees in mechanical engineering and an MBA. He enjoyed a fulfilling career, working for General Electric (OH) for more than 20 years and later at Williams International (MI). Don will also be remembered for his military service. Don served as a pilot in the United States Air Force and later retired from the USAF Reserves as Lt. Colonel after 28 years of service. In his personal life, Don found joy in fishing, playing cards, watching sports and spending time with friends at the American Legion and the Hidden Valley Fish & Game and Bridge Clubs. Recently, Don found companionship and engagement through activities at Ridgewood Health Center. His warmth, humor, and dedication to family and community will never be forgotten. Don’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Arthritis Foundation in his honor. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 10 – 11 a.m. with a funeral service to immediately follow at Paul R. Young Funeral Home (Mt. Healthy). Burial at Crown Hill Memorial Park.
