Post Office painting not quite realistic

On May 28, 1938, 30-yearold Indianapolis artist Henrik Martin Mayer attached a 12-foot by 5-foot-6 inch canvas mural called “Down to the Ferry” on the wall above the postmaster’s office door in the newly built Aurora Post Office, 501 Third St.
