Dane Matthew Massie, age 43, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on July 6, 1979, in Covington, Kentucky.
He was the loving son of Robert C. and Linda T. Geiger Massie. Dane spent most of his early life in the Northern Kentucky area and graduated from Holy Cross High School in Latonia in 1998. He attended Northern Kentucky University for two years.
He was united in marriage to Kelly Williams and they soon moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, where Dane attended the Scottsdale Culinary Institute and he received his degree in Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts in 2006. They relocated to Madison and he helped to open the Third and Main Restaurant in Aurora, Indiana. He served as a chef there and started the Butcher Shop and managed it as well.
He loved spending time with his four daughters, hiking, swimming, and other various activities. He loved music, going to concerts and was an avid Grateful Dead fan.
Dane died on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 9 p.m. at his home in Madison, Indiana, after a courageous battle with cancer.
A Loving Family: Dane will be missed by his loving parents, Robert C. and Linda T. Geiger Massie, of Madison, Indiana; his daughters, Scarlette Ann Massie of Burlington, Kentucky, Meah Stella Massie, Mylie Rose Massie, and Marlee Jayne Massie, all of Madison, Indiana; his brothers, Robby Massie of West Chester, Ohio, Randy Massie of Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, Craig Massie of Erlanger, Kentucky; his uncles, James Massie of Columbus, Ohio, Chris Geiger of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jamie Geiger of Las Vegas, Nevada; his cousin who was like his brother who grew up with him, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Stella Geiger and Bonnie and Harold Massie.
Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, June 18, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Friends and family may visit Sunday, June 18, 2023, from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
A celebration of life will begin on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at 4 p.m. at Third and Main Restaurant, 223 Third St. in Aurora, Indiana.
