Cloyd Earl “Mike” Jones, at the age of 85, of Harrison, Ohio, went home to meet the Lord on April 18 of 2023.
He entered life Feb. 1, 1938, and was born in Millerstown, Pennsylvania. Mike’s third love was serving his country in the United States Air Force and fought in the Vietnam War. His second love is for his devoted wife Helga and four wonderful children. They would travel to many states and countries until he retired from the Air Force in 1975. He worked at U.S. Shoe Corp. in Vevay, Indiana, and Harrison Ohio.
His first and greatest honor and joy was to serve and the unending love for God and Jesus Christ. This is when Mike and Helga started their journey to serve God all the days of their life faithfully along with their faithful children and grandchildren. Mike always said his cup runneth over and his valleys were always green. Mike was such a humble, true loving father, husband, friend, grandfather great-grandfather, and servant of God. He would always make it his goal to share the love and knowledge of God and Jesus to all he came into contact with, knowing it was his purpose and job to serve and teach others about Christ. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and Brethren.
He will be greatly missed by his family, wife, children and all who know him. He was proceeded in death by his father Guss Jones and mother Lucille (Miller) Jones; brothers Wayne, Charlie, Ray, and Ron. He is survived by his wife Helga (Shorten) Jones, children Steve (Sonia) Jones, Brian (Martha) Jones, Doris (Robert) Drexler, David (Annie ) Jones. Grandchildren Aaron Jones, Ryan Jones, Piper Jones, Hudson Jones, Marc Jones, Erica (Trevor ) Jasper, Zachary (Kathy)Drexler, Stevie Jones Jr., Dusty Jones, Summer Jones, and great-grandchildren Alexander Jasper, Wesley Jasper, and Lucas Jasper.

Visitation will be held at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, Ohio, 45030, on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. with military honors provided by the Harrison Honor Guard and U.S. Air Force at 10:30 a.m. all at the funeral home. Burial will follow at New Haven Cemetery in Crosby Township.
