Clifford William (Bill) Schwing, 89, of Dillsboro, Ind., passed away peacefully on Sunday June 30, 2024. He was born on June 7, 1935, in Aurora, Ind., son of the late Clifford Schwing and Mildred (Carter) Moore.
 Bill was married to his wife Carroll Jean for 61 loving years. The couple and their three children traveled around the country together for 25 years following his work building electrical power plants with Babcock & Wilcox Construction Company. In retirement he and Carroll spent the winters in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., where they enjoyed the warm weather, outdoor concerts and dances. In the summers they lived in their retirement home in Dillsboro where they enjoyed playing golf, visiting with friends and relatives and tending to their beautiful six-acre property.
 He is survived by his two sons, William Franklin (Robin) Schwing of Akron, Ohio; Kenneth Haynes Schwing of Harrison, Ohio; daughter, Kelly Renee (Ben) Mellshiemer of Belgium, Wis.; five grandchildren, Amanda, Jessica, Andrew, Lauren and Will; and four great-grandchildren, Ransom, Waylon, Silas and Dakota; siblings Skippy Schwing, Terry Schwing, Rodney Schwing, Patrick Schwing, Randy Schwing, Jim Witt, Joanie Seitz, Beverly Dell Streine, Suzanne Byrd, Tammy Landsberg, Collette Aden, Kim Schwing, Darcelle Klopp, Candie Schwing Fehling, Mindy Wesselman, Brenda Schwing, Judy Farmer, Tara Kudron and Darlene Schwing. He was predeceased by his wife Carroll Jean (Hopper) Schwing, brothers Robert Daniel Schwing and Steve Schwing.
 Family and friends will be received on Friday August 2, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fitch-Denny Funeral Home, 455 Ridge Ave., Greendale, IN 47025. Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denny Funeral home at 1 p.m. following visitation.
 Interment will follow in Greendale Cemetery, Greendale, Ind.
