Students at Harrison High School are showering an Aurora homeless shelter with kindness. Last week, students at the school collected hygienic products as a part of the Shower with Kindness drive for Heart House Inc.

Parks Director Jamie Bell recently presented her 2020 year end report to Rising Sun City Council, and it was not all good. She explained last year’s revenue was off by about 50%; the board brought in $21,496.40, a decrease of $18,570.60 from 2019, largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The end of a trying year marks the start of what Southwest Local Schools Superintendent John Hamstra calls a game changing year for the district. Hamstra said he is proud of the work the school has done, especially during a pandemic, and he looks forward to the year ahead.
