Board unanimous in closing school

Moores Hill Elementary will be closing at the end of this school year after a 7-0 vote by the South Dearborn School Corporation board. Saving the corporation money so it can be put to managing the declining enrollment, enhancing curriculum and extracurriculars for all students, and securing necessary funding to pay staff were reasons in the discussion of shutting the school down.

Jill was born in Devon, England, on January 21, 1946, the daughter of the late Alice (Jeffery) McCool and James Mc- Cool. She grew up in Lawrenceburg and was a graduate of Lawrenceburg High School, Class of 1964. In 1967 Jill married Edward Stacy, who passed away in 2002.
