Don’t let anyone tell you you don’t belong

Being a female who has worked in a “man’s” world my entire career, I would like to share my thoughts a b o u t National Women’s Month. I support it and think that it is important that we recognize women and the accomplishments that they have made. It is great to see so many qualified and accomplished women in leadership roles and in male-dominated industries today where they were not included in the past.

Walter Chester Dougoud Jr.

Walter Chester Dougoud Jr. aka “Sonny” aka “Mr. Recreational,” born Nov. 7, 1944. Departed this life in his home on Park Avenue in Harrison, Ohio, Feb. 12 2021, succumbing to cancer at age 76 years 3 months and 6 days. Husband and lover of 50 years of the late Carolyn Dougoud. Father, grandfather and great-grandfather and survived by five children: Nicholas Perkins, Tabatha (Dougoud) Doerflein, Walter C. Dougoud III, Cinnamyn A. Dougoud-Doerflein, and Desirae Dougoud, 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many close relatives and family friends.

Shirley Hendrix

Shirley Hendrix, of Harrison, passed away on March 4, 2021. She is survived by her devoted companion Harold Combs; beloved children: Jerry (Teresa) Hendrix and Sherry (Jerry) Simpson; cherished grandchildren: Crystal Jacob, Jackie Hendrix, Jason and Jamie Gulley and Jordan Simpson; wonderful great-grandma to Madison, Andrew, Ezra, Jayde, Logan, Lyla, Marlo, Norah, Emma, Piper and Maelyn.
