RUSHVILLE - South Dearborn baseball, owner of the EIAC bat traveling trophy since 2019, kept it at home with Monday’s 10-3 win in its 2021 conference opener at Rushville. The bat, a concept formulated by longtime Knights head coach Jay Malott to boost Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference rivalries, remained idle all of last season after IHSAA cancellation of spring sports across the board, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
ST. LEON - After a 2-0 start to the long-awaited 2021 season, East Central baseball dropped the next 2 games, including Monday’s 7-5, 8-inning loss to Franklin County in its conference opener.
LAWRENCEBURG - After exploding for a chilly 22-5, 5-inning win at Rising Sun in the season opener last Wednesday, March 31, Lawrenceburg baseball saw its 3-2 lead after 2-1/2 innings at Harrison (Ohio) get buried by a 12-run Wildcats third in a 16-3, 5-inning rout Saturday.
Hoosiers seeking a better-paying job can use the state’s new Hoosier Talent Network website to match to one of more than 135,000 job openings, according to State Reps. Randy Lyness (R-West Harrison) and Cindy Ziemke (R-Batesville).
One of the main lessons we’ve learned from the COVID- 19 pandemic is that, under a statewide emergency, it makes sense for Hoosiers to have all branches of their state government involved in making decisions that affect them. House Bill 1123 would allow the General Assembly to play a more active role in decision-making during statewide emergencies.

Students in Kim Lyttle’s art classes at Moores Hill School are working on a Collaboration Project. Students in each class are participating in a different part of an end of the year mural to hang in the halls of Moores Hill School. The sixth grade students are painting the trees that will be a part of the mural. Other classes were in charge of adding buildings, clouds, raindrops, suns, and smiley faces. SUBMITTED PHOTO
